On 8 November 2023, the government approved the Resolution No. 585/2023 providing one-time financial assistance to entities under the administration of district authorities of Bardejov, Čadca, Košice, Košice - Neighborhood, Levoča, Liptovský Mikuláš, Nitra, Poprad, Prešov, Rimavská Sobota, Sabinov, Senica, Sobrance, Trnava and Žilina. Its purpose was to cover expenses related to rescue works during declared emergency situations as a result of 28 extraordinary events according to the S14 and S15 of the Act No. 42/1994 Coll. on civil protection of the population (the activities of a district authority and of municipalities).
The government approved the reimbursement of expenses of the named district authorities and municipalities for the executed rescue works and civil protection measures during declared emergency situations. These activities were mainly carried out in order to save the life, health and property of residents and also to remove them from the threatened or affected areas. The activities to prevent the spread and effects of consequences of extraordinary events and creation of conditions to eliminate their consequences were a part of measures taken. The expenditures for the second-degree health hazard events, fires, torrential rains, snow disasters and storms were addressed. The government fund intended on the above-mentioned rescue works during the emergency situation reached a total of €541,040.
The approved government fund €541,040 was fully paid out. The government released the fund from the General Treasury Administration chapter of the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic.
