On 17 October 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft Regulation on support to local governments for the development of public infrastructure necessary for entrepreneurship, promoting the transition to a climate-neutral economy in the regions most affected by socio-economic consequences, elaborated by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development. The programme supports the following actions for infrastructure development and accessibility that contribute to the transition to a climate-neutral economy:
The funding available in the first round of selection is €54,168,344, including Just Transition fund funding – €46,043,092 and national funding of no less than €8,125,252. Beneficiaries are local governments or institutions established by local governments, local government capital companies, public-private capital companies in which the capital or voting shares belong to local governments, and special economic zone administrations.
It is planned that by the end of 2029, as a result of the implementation of the projects, at least 25 businessmen will benefit from the developed public infrastructure areas, which will provide more than 420 jobs.

Governments across the EU continue to implement policies to support citizens and businesses in the face of rising food and energy prices caused by the COVID-19 crisis and intensified by the war in Ukraine. This article summarises the policy responses as reported in Eurofound's EU PolicyWatch database from January to September 2022.
