The aim of the project "Maybe to Lithuania" is to disseminate information about the Lithuanian labour market, employers and their expectations to Lithuanians living abroad. The project is implemented by the Public Employment Service, according to the Inter-institutional Action Plan of the Demographic, Migration and Integration Policy Strategy for 2018-2030 approved by the Government (TAR, 2018-09-27, No. 15175). The project is implemented by several partners: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, EURES, Innovation Agency, World Lithuanian Youth Union, Grįžtu.lt, Global Regions, Lithuanian Association of Municipalities.
The initiative "Maybe to Lithuania" organizes events, discussions and career fairs remotely and in person. The targeted advertising is applied to attract Lithuanians from abroad to work in the country of origin. On the initiative's website https://galilietuva.lt/ Lithuanians living abroad are provided with all the latest information about the current vacancies on the country's labor market, retraining opportunities, social guarantees and living and working conditions in Lithuania. In order to clarify the current needs and expectations of the diaspora and select appropriate communication messages, the communication agency Bold Agency commissioned a survey of emigrants' opinions, according to which 55 percent of those surveyed were considering returning to Lithuania in 2023, of which 60 percent are settled in the regions
According to the Public Employment Service, 11 project events were held with Lithuanians living abroad in 2023, where labour market news and opportunities to work in Lithuania were presented. Contact events were held throughout the year, where the Lithuanian labor market, main trends, its specifics, retraining, and remote work opportunities were discussed, and individual consultations were provided to interested parties.
