Background information

The prolonged COVID-19 crisis and the related closures or limitations of the activities have severely affected the events sector. Accordingly, the Government has allocated a fund corresponding to €60 million to support the enterprises operating in the events sector, such as weddings, entertainment, and hotel-restaurant-catering sector.

Content of measure

The Government has allocated a fund corresponding to €60 million to support the enterprises operating in the sector of events, such as weddings, entertainment, and hotel-restaurant-catering sector. The fund will pay non-repayable allowances to operators of the sector. The fund is split as follows:

  • 40 million to the wedding sector;
  • 10 million to the entertainment sector, the organisation of parties and ceremonies, other than weddings;
  • 10 million to the hotel-restaurant-catering sector.

The non-repayable contribution may be requested by companies that in the year 2020 have suffered a reduction in turnover of no less than 30% compared to that of the year 2019, by directly submitting an application to the Revenue Agency.
