The Emergency Business Flooding Schemes and Enhanced Emergency Business Flooding Scheme will provide funding for small businesses, sports clubs and voluntary organisations who are unable to secure flood insurance and who have been affected by recent flooding.
The schemes covers the costs of returning premises to their pre-flood condition including the replacement of flooring, fixtures and fittings and damaged stock where relevant.
The first stage of funding will provide an immediate contribution of up to €5,000, depending on the scale of damage incurred. If the damage is significant, organisations can apply for additional financial support up to a maximum of €20,000 in total. The additional support will involve an assessment by the Irish Red Cross.
An ‘Enhanced Emergency Business Flooding Scheme’ will provide higher levels of financial support with an initial payment of €10,000 and total payments capped at €100,000.
Both schemes apply only to premises that have been flooded.
Neither scheme will provide a contribution for loss of earnings or loss of business good will.
