On 22 December 2022, the Minister of Labour announced the launch of the “Pao brosta” (“I move forward”) programme. The programme concerns the training of 150,000 employees from all sectors across the country on digital and green skills.
The programme aims to assist workers to adapt to the requirements of modern workplace trends, upgrade their prospects and contribute to the modernisation of the Greek economy.
The programme “Pao brosta” aims to train 150,000 workers from all sectors in digital and green skills. The duration of the programme is 80 hours (in person and with distance learning). The beneficiaries after their successful completion of the training, will receive an educational allowance of €400 (€5 per hour) and “Certificate of knowledge and skills”. The applications for the programme started on 23 December and finished on 25 January 2023. The beneficiaries submit their request via the website , and the link “Registration in the Register of Beneficiaries”. The applicants can choose the programme they wish to follow from the list of the proposed programmes.
The curricula range from essential digital office tools, social media marketing and e-shop management to more specialised training such as data analytics, artificial intelligence applications, logistics and the use of digital technologies in the agricultural sector
The agency implementing the programme is the Public Employment Service (DYPA), and is funded by the Recovery and Resilience Fund. The total budget of the programme is €154.5 million.
According to Press reports of 26 January 2023, applications exceeded 120,000 for 150,000 private sector positions.
