Background information

On 21 June 2023, the management of Steris (194 employees) and the UNSA trade union signed a company agreement to encourage and develop the use of more active and environmentally-friendly modes of transport. Applicable until 31 December 2024, the agreement aims to provide financial support for employees who make at least 30% of their home-to-work journeys by carpooling or cycling. It also provides for 75% reimbursement of public transport season tickets.

Content of measure

The agreement applies to all Steris SAS employees, regardless of seniority, their job title or the nature of their employment contract (permanent or fixed-term contract, work-study contract or internship).

Since 1 July 2023, employees travelling by bicycle or carpooling (as a driver or passenger) have benefited respectively from a "sustainable mobility package" bicycle allowance (FDMV) or a "carpooling mobility package" allowance (FDMC) as long as they make at least 30% of their home-to-work journeys, a journey being defined as an outward and return journey. The amount of these allowances is €40 per quarter for an outward journey of eight kilometres or less, and €60 for a longer outward journey.

In addition, Steris will pay 50% of the costs incurred, up to a maximum of €100 (one request for the duration of the agreement), to enable employees to purchase equipment (helmet, reflective waistcoat or armband, gloves, panniers) and/or have their bicycles serviced/repaired.

Use of measure

It applies to the 194 employees of the company.
