Background information

The Flemish government intends to encourage companies to organize their production process in a sustainable, climate-friendly, circular and energy-efficient way. To do this they have created the so called Ecology premium+ (among other measures). This premium covers part of the extra investment costs entailed and reduce the barrier for companies to make them.

Content of measure

The ecology premium+ is a financial allowance for companies that make their production process more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. The Flemish government covers part of the extra investment costs (15 to 55%). The final amount of the subsidy depends on the nature of the investment, the eco-class to which a technology belongs and the size of the company.

The main condition for eligibility for this ecology premium+ is that the investment must appear on the limitative technology list that was established by the governmental services involved. However, even those technologies that may not appear on the limitative technology list due to their uniqueness can sometimes still apply for a strategic ecology grant under specific conditions.
