Be Circular 2024 is a regional project call launched by the Brussels-Capital Region to promote the transition towards a circular economy among local enterprises. As part of the Region’s Shifting Economy strategy, the initiative supports SMEs, start-ups and non-profits in developing innovative business models that reduce resource consumption and environmental impact.
Priority themes include sustainable food systems, circular logistics, and 3R strategies (reduce, reuse, recycle). The programme aims to foster economic resilience, job creation and ecological innovation through targeted support for circular entrepreneurship
The project provides targeted financial and operational support to enterprises engaged in the circular economy. Eligible applicants include micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises, start-ups (up to three years old), non-profit organisations, and business partnerships operating within the Brussels region. The initiative supports projects that contribute to sustainable production and consumption, with a focus on circular business models, sustainable food systems, 3R strategies (reduce, reuse, recycle), and circular logistics. Selected projects may receive up to €200 000 in funding, with the total budget for the 2024 edition exceeding €1.2 million. In addition to financial assistance, beneficiaries gain access to business coaching, promotional support, and integration into the Region’s circular economy network. The measure aims to stimulate ecological innovation, job creation and economic resilience through practical, scalable interventions
